Weld hose
The weld hose is, from a safety perspective, an important part of the equipment. Moreover this ‘last link in the gas distribution chain’ shall maintain the purity of the gas right up to the point of consumption. AGA’s weld hoses are manufactured in accordance with EN 559. The hoses are marked with gas type, dimension and working pressure. All hoses can be supplied in different lengths.
- Red hose = Acetylene
- Blue hose = Oxygen
- Orange hose = Propane/Hydrogen
- Black hose = Shielding gas for gas arc-welding
Gas arc-welding involves the gas processes where shielding gas is included as protection and weld parameters, in the first instance TIG, MIG/MAG and plasma welding.
Check that the hoses are intact and free of cracks. Never employ hoses of unknown quality and do not mix up hoses for different gases. Secure all hose connections by means of hose clamps. Avoid splicing hoses. If this is necessary, employ approved splicing pieces. Remember that hoses are perishable and that they need to be replaced when dry cracks occur.
