Since 2003, AGA runs a test- and research center in Flåskjer outside Ålesund in Norway. The center is developing and testing gases and their properties in water. The center includes freshwater and seawater facilities, a water system based on recirculation and a water heating. The research center also performs environmental measurements and offers courses to customers and others.

The most important single factor in achieving favourable results in fish farming is the water’s oxygen level. The amount of oxygen in the production water must be in balance and in the right relationship to other gases in the water, such as nitrogen. This in turn is dependent on factors such as the amount of fish in the tank and the water current.

Ensuring adequate oxygen levels in the water at all times is an important safety factor which affects growth, health, appetite and general well-being of the fish. It also helps to reduce the effects of stress that water temperature produce in fish. Finally it allows you to smoothly increase stock density, gives an optimal feed conversion ratio and ensures the highest possible survival levels under optimum breeding conditions.

We offer:

  • Cost-effective substitution of air by oxygen and related injection equipment to increase production yields in fish and seafood farms
  • Liquid and compressed gases and related distribution systems
  • Tailor-made solutions for individual customers
  • A thorough understanding of the interplay at all the elements in fish farming through our international network of fish farming experts.

We also supply:
  • Optimization of water currants and the environment of a tank
  • Calculations and environmental measurements
