Aeration tanks are the bottleneck at many overloaded waste water treatment plants. By supplementing aeration with the addition of oxygen it is possible to boost the efficiency of the biodegradation of organic matter, even at higher capacity utilization.
Oxygen is particularly helpful in handling seasonal peak loads. The oxygen alternative offers low investment as the gas has to be paid for only at times of peak load.
