Axel Nordvall - Sales Director Axel Nordvall started Svenska Karbid in 1899 and then became sales director at AGA from 1904 to 1917. Together with Aron Andersson he formed AGA’s first board of directors. When accidents with the explosive acetylene gas increased and even Gustaf Dalén began to doubt whether acetylene technology had any future (1904) it was Axel Nordvall who persuaded him to remain in the industry. During his extensive sales trips in the U.S. and South America he won major orders from countries including Uruguay, Chile and Ecuador at an early stage.
