AGA Spiropulsator

. | On the initiative of Dr. Paul Frenckner in 1933, AGA developed the Spiropulsator. This first anesthetizes the patient to a suitable level and then when the breast cavity has been opened up completely takes over the patient’s respiration. This assignment was given to Emil Andersson, M.Sc.Eng., who had the first prototype ready by the very next year. |
| The medical project management was then assumed by Dr. Clarence Crafoord, who developed a new model in 1938. This made major, long chest operations possible for the first time in Europe. |
